2025 Scholarship Winner

The Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Fayetteville scholarship committee selected Vincent Ruhlander, a High School Senior, to receive the Ocoee Foundation Healthcare Scholarship Award.

Our award winner, Vincent Ruhlander, is a Senior at Fayetteville City High School. Mr. Ruhlander stood out as the top candidate due to his motivation and commitment to success. He has maintained dual enrollment in high school and Motlow College (he will obtain his associate degree before he officially graduates from high school) while maintaining a GPA of 4.45. He plays both high school tennis and volleyball and has an impressive list of community service activities.

He plans to obtain a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, but also wants to double major in Spanish to deepen his understanding of the language and culture in the Latino community. There are not many students who would spend 2 years balancing a full-time college and high school schedule, participate in high school athletic and community events, and maintain a work schedule as well. His parents lost their restaurant, and his dad has been out of work, so the family has been living on what his mother makes as a schoolteacher.
