We are thrilled to honor the latest recipient of our annual scholarship—funded through the generosity of the Ocoee Foundation—Ms. Rebecca Howard!
Selecting an awardee is a meaningful process, as this scholarship highlights individuals who embody a rare blend of scholastic focus, community heart, and a genuine passion for uplifting others. Rebecca, a Lincoln County native who completed her high school education through Riverside Christian Academy in Fayetteville, KY, exemplifies these values. Her dedication to helping others shines brightly in her daily life, where she balances her studies with church service activities and provides loving care to her great-grandmother, all while finding time to enjoy a good book.
Rebecca is already making great strides in her academic voyage. Currently enrolled at Nashville State Community College, she plans to continue her education at Motlow College or the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Receiving this scholarship has also inspired her to aim higher: though she initially set out to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification, she is now pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing with the ultimate goal of achieving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
